Riding

The purpose-built Abbots Bromley Equestrian Centre boasts superb facilities for both beginner and experienced rider alike. Pupils are encouraged to bring their own horses/ponies to school and the centre offers full livery at very competitive prices.

Pupils can learn to ride from the age of 6 years and are taught by highly qualified and experienced staff, including a senior / chief BHS assessor.

As a BHS approved riding and training centre, pupils can train for BHS qualifications up to and including BHSAI. As a Pony Club approved Centre, pupils without their own ponies may also train for Pony Club badges. In-house competitions are held regularly throughout the year and all pupils, regardless of their level of experience or ability, are invited to take part. The school also enters individuals and teams into inter-school competitions and over recent years have had considerable success in national events.

The facilities include stabling for up to 20 horses in an American barn – each stable measuring a generous 10ft x 12ft – plus a further 4 day stables in the hay barn. The floodlit outdoor arena with a sand surface measures 60m x 25m and is equipped with BS show jumps. The indoor arena measures 20m x 40m and has a sand, aqua gel and turf float surface which provides a great surface to work on both the flat and over fences.
