Pre Vocational Courses

Junior Pre-Vocational Course
For the slightly older dancers in Abbots Bromley Preparatory School these classes are intended to give a broader understanding of dance and lead into the Pre-Vocational and Vocational Dance Courses in the Senior School. Subject to their timetable these children dance most days and take over 4 hours of dance each week. The core of this course is Classical Dance but the girls also learn Modern Jazz Dance and Tap.
Senior School Pre-Vocational Course
For students in Year 7 to 9 the Pre-Vocational Course continues their technical and physical development. Students at this level dance for approximately 8 hours per week. In addition to classical ballet, modern dance and tap extra contextual classes are added which include Repertoire and Jazz. Many dance students at this level choose not to do sport, and where possible are able to fit in additional dance classes at no extra cost. Students who want to participate fully in sport are able to do this throughout their time in the senior school if they wish. In fact a number of students have used their dance skills as a part of GCSE and A Level PE. All girls working at this level are encouraged to take the Royal Academy of Dance and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance Professional Examinations.
Places on the Pre-Vocational and Vocational Courses at all levels is by assessment or audition.
