About us

At Abbots Bromley School, there is so much on offer to suit a wide variety of individuals.

Whilst we expect our pupils to work hard and focus carefully on their academic studies, at the same time we want to open up as many opportunities to them as possible.

As well as offering traditional academic subjects to A-Level and encouraging pupils to aspire to academic excellence, we also cater for students who wish to take alternative career routes.

Alongside our academic programme, our students are able to take a variety of qualifications to a high level in areas such as riding, dance and musical theatre without jeopardising any future plans they may have too early in their careers. We are lucky to have our own Equestrian Centre on site, fabulous modern dance facilities and a newly refurbished theatre, where the pupils can display their talents.

We offer excellent sporting facilities for budding sports women in a variety of disciplines including swimming and the opportunities for musicians are enhanced with annual overseas tours to share their music with different communities. In recent years the Choir has visited America, Spain, Malta and Italy to great acclaim.

We are very fortunate to be in an environment that allows us to benefit from many wonderful possibilities. The safe haven of Abbots Bromley allows our students to grow up in beautiful natural surroundings, but at the same time we are never too far from locations where the students may benefit from cultural and intellectual experiences.

Situated at the heart of the country, we are in easy reach of some extremely well-known universities, with whom we have close ties. Keele, for example, offers excellent links for teachers and students, and we also have close links with Cambridge University.

Nottingham, Birmingham, Worcester, Leicester and Leeds are in easy driving distance, allowing us to benefit still further from our central geographical location.

For students wishing to join us from overseas three airports lie within close proximity, (East Midlands, Birmingham and Manchester), whilst the fast rail link to London from Lichfield allows us to easily access our capital city within an hour and a quarter.

Our friendly boarding community caters for a variety of options for girls from the age of eight and boys from the age of 15: full boarding, weekly, flexi and occasional packages are available to suit every parent’s requirements. From September 2017 boys from the age of 8-12 will be able to board in our new boarding house as boys enter Y7 for the first time. The school will be fully co-ed by 2020.
